Defendant pleaded he hatE mo intention of causing his wife any annoyance. He simply went to her house to get his spectacles. The Magistrate disbelieved defendant's story, and after warning'him, convicted him, arrd! ordered him to come up for sentence when called upon, on condition that he left the town daring the day.—Pahiatua Herald.
