Mr Donison Miller, Governor of the ( Commonwealth Bank, arriv.ed in Sydi!«y lavt. week, on business connected witji .bnTikin-r matters, in that city. Mr Miller has recently visited West Aus- 1 tralia, where iie secured sites for banking promises, and ho proposes to go .'to Tasmania next month, after whioli lie proposes to mako up his staff requirements for the whole of the.' Commonwealth, appointing the various men to their ■particular positions.* and giving them sufficient time to give their own banks a month's notice. "F also expect,-' Mr Miller told a representative of the Sydney,, Telegraph, "to have the arrangements for the London office so far advanced that we will bp able to start operations there at the same time as they are.commenced in the Common wealth. The question of opening in New Zealand' will he considered later. So far I have not visited the Dominion, and it is probable the bank will be in full swing in the Commonwealth before T go there."
