Since then now life was infused into the management and working of our Centre. I .Monthly meetings were and ar*S held. , Reports of ail meetings are printed and sent direct to the secretaries of various club, and the "Centre has now its ollieial handicapper, Mr W. JWhite, whoso services are available to ail sports societies under our jurisdiction. The fees .payabie are as fol-' lows-Up to 50 entries 10s Gel, up t° "/■j entries 21s, up to 100 entries 425, over 100 entries 635. In every ease where the presence of the handicapper is required at the. sports meeting- his ! expenses shall be added to these fees. : V, o cannot too-strongly urge the clubs | in our disuicc to employ tho handii ca'oper, who would always -bp acquainci.»l with the competitors' performances, ; and so check much unfair sport. CKtr president and secretary' ably represented the Centre at the : annual , conference at Hamilton, The most f important matter affecting sports so-' 'eieties, etc., was that delinquent clubs and officials' are punishable- by ( its immediate superior tribunal, subject-, of course, to right of appeal by nn aggrieved party, as shown in Rules, j 'With feelings of* deepest regret we j.refe'r 'to the dearth of our esteemed I Pongaroa delegate and vice-president ' of this Centre. Mr J'. H. Pauling, by which the Centre lost a most capable and valuable-member. . The best'thanks of the Centre- are due- to various clubs and official, j under our management for the. ready manner in which they have from time to' timo supplied information 'of 'par*, tieulars required by the members ; to the delegates for their prompt and punctual attention and attendance at our meetings; to our. president, Mr Lavery, through whose efforts, much needed reforms h?.ve been put into practice, and particularly to our secretary, Mr W. Gillespie, whose efficient services have been gratuitously rendered.:
