MASTERTON CRICKET CLUB
'ANNUAL MEETING. • The annual meeting of tire Masterton Cricket Club was held last evening, Mr W. C. Perry presiding over a small attendance. The annual report and balance-sheet was read and adopted, and showed a credit balance of £6 12s 2d, but with outstanding subscriptions due, there Would be a credit of £l4. The secretary stated that a match would be played in the first week in .January with, a visiting team from Rangitikei. He also understood that if a sufficient guarantee were forthcoming a. match would be plave<} in the Wairarapa by the Melbourne team which is to visit tlie Dominion, From this it would be seen that the prospects vrereNgood. The following officers were elected: President, Mr W. G. Beard; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs F. G. Moore, A. P. Whatman, A. Matthews, F. G. Maunsell, and R. U. Harden; hon secretary and'treasurer, Mr T. Jordan; hon auditor. Mr W. C. Perry; committee, Messrs A. Congclon, "W. C. Perry, A. Ibbetson, J. B. Hoodie and Ed Perry; club captain, Mr D. K. Logan; delegates to Cricket Council, Messrs W. C. Perry and T. Jordan; delegates to Cricket Association, Messrs Congdon, Perry and Jordan. Eight new members were elected. It was decided that it be a reconiI mendation to the committee that the I Club enter two teams in the senior ] championship competition. Tt was resolved that th-f' Question of ground rents be left to the Cricket Council to decide as to what action should be taken. The awarding of Mr J. Brown's trophy for the most improved junior player was left in the bands of the junior club captain. Tt was decided to open the season on Saturday.
