TRAFALGAR DAY
CELEBRATION IN WELLINGTON. (73) i Telegraph—Press Association.') j WELLINGTON, Last Night. I Flags were flown to-day from pubj lie buildings, schools, business prc- _ miseSj and shipping, in celebration of the 107 th anniversary of . the Battle of Trafalgar. At several schools the t children paraded and saluted the flag. A naval picture entertainment was held in the afternoon at King's Theatre, when fully 5000 children attended. Sir Joseph Ward, New Zealand president of the Navy League, emphasised the fact that the celebration was to do honour to the greatest Ad- , miral the British Navy had ever ( known, an Admiral who had made it possible for all people living under the British flag to be free, wherever they might be. Tho Navv League did not desire war, but was founded for tho purpose of preserving peace for the people of to-day and the future. This j evening the Mayor (Mr D. McLaren) jas president of the local branch of the Navy League, gave a short a-d-I dress at several theatres.
