THE WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of delegates of the Wairarapa Cricket Association was held in Messrs Gawith and Logan's offices on. Sat.rtrd.iy evening, Mr E. Collinge presiding. , A letter was received from .the Southland Cricket Association, the present-holders- of the Hawke Cup, protesting against the- proposed condifioh.s governing it which provide for a tournament be-t-ween the minor associations in the North Island and in; the South Island, the winners, in each Island ■ to. ■ 'play off. The meeting was of opinion that the conditions as altered were quite satisfactory. It was decided that the Wairarapa Association should enter for the contest, entries for which close on 31st inst. Owing to he resignation of the secretary and the non-appointment of a successor, there was no formal report presented. Letters were received from the Rangitikei Nomads, asking for a mat\"h at the beginning of January. The Wednesday Cricket Association in Wellington also wrote stating that the WVirarapa Association would bo allotted a match against the 'Victorian: Touring Team, provided a guarantee of £SO for a two days' match was forthcoming. Mr W. R. Komball was secretary and treasurer for the ensuing year., The meeting was adjourned' unitl Saturday week, in order to dea! wiih the fiixturos and other matters.
