RAILWAY BILL
PROPOSED INCREASES. (By Teiegr^vh—Pres» Assnr.inf i.on.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The. Government Railway Bill was introduced by Governor's Message in the House of Representatives tonight. Replying' to questions, the Hon W. H. Herries stated that some 6f tho increases in the first class division were: 9th class, proposed minimum £215, maximum £249;' Bth class £255 and £275; 7th class £285 and £315; (>th class, minimum £330. The increase would total between £SOOO and £6OOO for the first year. Tlie salary for the new General Manager of Railways would not exceed £3OOO per year. He hoped to bring down a classification list next week.
