THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES AN EXTRAORDINARY DRAMA. There was a packed house; at '.'■ th© Foresters' Hall last evening when the new programme was shown, for' thefirst time; The audience was more than pleased, it was delighted, with, the series of pictures shown, every film, being really a star proudction. Although Messrs Thompson-Payne have shown many excellent programmes here, it is doubtful if they have ever shown a combination of pictures containing so much merit 'a* those screened, last evening. Romance of the Ice Fields was two pictures rolled into one, a dramatic study, and some of the most beatitiful winter scenery) snow; covered and icehound. Trying to Fool Uncle was a comical,story ,ol a clever and daring scheme to inherit the old man's money, but which,(utterly fails./ The New Physician was a pretty comedy-dra-ma depicting the inevitable chase by village girls when a- new male person arrived. The "Beetles" acted, marched, made love, kicked one another, fired guns, carried spears, mounted ladders jumped into a river from a high bank and generally did what humans do. A Humble Hero was a story with a true ring in it. A dog's master discovers a very mine, but is pounced on by claimjumpers, and the 'dog, by its sagacity, frustrated the dastardly attempt by bringing succour to its master. The Runaways was a comedy of excellence. A Trip to Bermuda was au excellent scenic study intermingled with the tomfoolery of two or. three _ loving couples, who imparted, a cdmic element. A Pathe Gazette contained attractive features, and From Fireman to Engineer was a really good drama. Several other fine pictures were shown." The above pictures will be screened again to-night • and to-morrow. The Matinee on Saturday afternoon will be a- special treat for the children, for the wonderful picture Beetles, Jocko, the Dog Herb, 'The Runaway Engine.. The Romance of the Icefields. Tho Runaway Couple, Revenge, Trying to Fool Uncle and The New Physician will find, mucli to 1 asms* and interest ih&m.
