WAIHI STRIKE
ASSAULT CASE.' ! ;v,:V' VERDICT FOR DEFENDANT. \( By Telegraph—rrm At^iatton.Jr , WAIHI, Last Night. The case in which a girl named Jessie Beanies charged James Delaney with .assault and the counter, charge in which Delaney' accused Beames of a similar offence, •' was concluded to-day. The Magistrate summed up very strongly in favour of Delaney, and said that he would adjourn the, case for'three months, and would require a promise from Beames that she would not engage in "booHing" and calling out "scab." He would not enter conviction, but he would expect the promise to be kept, otherwise she Would be called upon for .sentence. In regard to the charge against Delaney the Magistrate said thath,e would dismiss that" straight' out. A number of other strike cases were adjourned. , : ;v
