BIG FRAUDS
INVOLVING A VERY HEAVY SUM WIDESPREAD RUIN. (Received October 17, 8.35 a.mi.) BRUSSELS,-October 16; Wilmart, manager of the. GhentTerneuzen Railway, has disappeared, after committing frauds involving a sum of no less than two and a half million pounds. The frauds have caused widespread ruin in Belgium and France. One Brussels bank has lost £40,000, the Public Savings Bank £16,000, and another bank £28,000. . A leading stockbroker who lost; £28,000 committed" suicide. Wilmart was man, and director of. many. banks arid* industrial concerns. ;
