RACING AT MASTERTON.
Tho Masterton Racing Club is to be congratulated upon the success that attended its meeting yesterday. The pretty course at Opaki was patronised by tho largest crowd that has been seen upon it for many'." a long day, and the improved appointments were freely commented upon by- visitors. There is a good deal of attdnt to detail vo.t required to make the meeting a.s successful as it should be; but the mistakes will doubtless lie overcome as time wears on. The Masterton Club lias been under a cloud for some time. Tt is now coming to its .own, and the time will yet arrive when the local fixture will _be among the most important in the provinces of the Dominion.
