NEW ZcALANC'S FORfiC.'.ST. [Hy loiejjrapn—Pre&s Aaaoci&tacn.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued she following report:— Squally and changeable conditions have prevailed, and rain has fallen in West land and Otago. Northerly and westerly winds have predominated and «trong to gale southwards of Cook Strait. The barometer has been unsteady. Present indications are for northerly winds, strong to gale, generally, and veering to southerly southwards of Cape Egmont and Castlcpoint. After about sixteen hours, the weather is likely to prove unsettled and boisterous, with rain in most parts. Hail, snow and ieo on high country in the south', and rivers flooded in the southern districts. There are indications for an eleetric.i'i disturbance in parts. The barometer is unsteady, but a rise avill probably take place in the south after about sixteen hours.
