iF/uin (Jur Omn Correspondent.} Yesterday Mr \V. Howard Booth, of Carrington, despatched a fine lot of stock to the Hawke's Bay Show. The consignment comprised two heifers, three bulls, and thirteen sheep. The cattle are purebred Shorthorn yearlings and two-year-olds, all fine specimens. The sheep include some very nice 2-tooths —rams and owes — well-grown, well woolled, and sy'metrical. Mr Young, Supervisor of the Government Veterinary Department, gave an address on ailments of dairy cows at' Carterton on Saturday, when there was a representative gathering of farmers, who took akeen interest in the remarks of the lecturer. On Saturday afternoon the members ofthe Carterton Brass Band presented Mi' H. Woodley with a handsome marble clock, on the dccasion of his leaving for Masterton, where he has been appointed conductor of the Municipal Brass Band. Bandmaster Crawley made the presentation on behalf of the members.
