THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES "THE ACTOR'S DAUGHTER." Hi© large audience present at the Foresters' Hall last evening woro delighted with the programme .submitted. For all-rouncl excellence nothing better, has •been seen at the I 1 orestcrs Hall, there being no less than five stars on the programme, "which held the audience spell-bound. An enthralling story of the stage entitled "Aii.Actor's Daughter" was the star item, and was an exciting study of the anxiety of a father for his girl's welfare and her desire' for pleasure after once 1 tasting the forbidden cup. The story is brimful of excellent acting, which exerts a. fascinating grip over all beholders. All the other items were of a high order of merit, and elicited from the onlookers welldeserved applause. The dramas covered a wide range. "Muggins, A 7.0.» at Khuma Hospital," presented a story of vivid interest., War is in progress between the British and the coloured inhabitants of India. Muggins has to leave his wife to go to the front, and though fond fa.rewolls mark their separation, she determines to go and assist the lied Cross Brigade at Khuma Hospital. Various encountens with the Indians are witnessed and in a final one, Muggins, the last of a little squad of men, lias to retire to the hospital building. Here he meets his wife, who proves of great assistance during the following attack on the building by the blacks. A sensational railway story is told in "The Girl with the Lantern," and the audience see how a brave young girl manages to prevent two railway trains from dashing into each other. The instructive side, of the bill-of-fare was well represented in such films as "Warmland," "Studies in Aquatic Life," "Pathe Gazette," and "Oban and Dunoon Hold Games." Other pictures shown were: "The "Hojfden," "One Round O'Brien," "The New Baby," "A Mexican Romance," Three Men in a Fix." and a "Dash Through the Clouds." The programme will be repeated to-night. MASTERTON PICTURE COMPANY The programme submitted at the Town Hall last evening was in every way an excellent one, the various films being quite up to the high standard always to be found at the Town Hall. '7l ic star film "Red Falcon," which is recognised as one of the finest picture dramas yet produced, was shown to splendid advantage. The acting, staging and colouring of this fine photo-play were equally magnificent, and the, plot which is cleverly conceived enhances the quality of the film. "Rod Falcon will be shown tonight for the. last time, and should be witnessed b.v everyone. "The Golden Anniversary" is a very fine Vitagraph drama, as also is "The, Cattle King's Daughter," "Love Finds out tho Way," "Opossum Hunting,"' ' "How to Exact Rent" and "The ' Animals' Friend" are pictures of the | highest merit, and go to make up a . high-class programme. To-morrow ! the„.bi-weekly change of programme will be presented. A special selection has l>eon arranged with' the latest : production in Western drama ns the * star film. The picture k entitled' "The Frontier Child." and bristles with exciting ami stirring events in r the Western St-aies of America.
