MEETING OF GENERAL OOM- | MTETEE. I A meeting of the General Commit- I tee of the Masterton A. and P. Association wa« held hi the Perry St. i rooms on Saturday last, there being t present Messrs H. J A letter was road from the Wellington Racing Club, stating that a sum of £l2 10s had been voted the Association on the, same terms as last year. —On the motion of the chairman, it was decided to- convey a hearty vote of thanks to ihc Wellington Racing Club for its generous Si".

I Mr V. S. Pope, secretary of the Agricultural Department, wrote sug- | gestiug the advisability of a better , .system of judging seeds at agricul•tiiftral ishows, and offering the services of a judge. Tt would, he said, lio [necessary to have tlio exhibits ready some weeks before the show. — Several members of the committee "Wrought the idea a good one, and the matter was referred to the Agricultural Committee. •Mr J. Short,' of rrontham, wrote offering to do the catering at the next show. —The matter was referred to the Catering Committee. The reports of the committees set up to revise the schedule wore read . and dealt with. The report of the meeting of tiir Ground Committeo iva« read. Tho , Clerk of the Borough Council advised tho appointment cf Os Donald, Ewington and Temple to meet Messrs | Gray and McGregor, Junr., and disI cuss the question of rolling Fleet and § York Streets. The custodian also asked for information as to the disposal of the first crop of clover. The secretary was instructed to accept best price . offering for the crop. Leave was granted the caretaker to visit the Hawke's Bay Show. It was resolved that Messrs Gray, Morrison, Rayner and McGregor pay a visit to Sohvay lon Tuesday, 22nd inst. The Finance Committee's report

R was read. The treasurer reported the debit balance- on September 14th at £1236 15s r x \, and an expenditure for the month amounting to £4.4 8 S 4d. The receipts for the month were £442 3s. The debit balance at late waa £797 14s 3d. Accounts amounting to . £49 16s 2d were passed for payment.
