"YANKEE HUSTLE."

Uncle Sam knows how to hustle, fn spito of the spirit of "grab" he has shown in reference to tho Panama Canal, he is determined to make the Panama-Pacific International Exposition the greatest thing the world has seen. AVith this object in view, he is appealing to tho live-stock breeders of New. Zealand to provide special prizes for competition among the sheep-breeders of the Dominion. This is rather an unique proposition; but it- shows the business enterpriso of the Americans. The stock going from these parts would compete, not only against the breeders of th<* world, but against the exhibits of the Dominion itself. The proposal will, no doubt, receive the serious consideration of those concerned.
