THE WATERSIDE WORKERS.

(To The Editor.} Sir,—ld yum--issue of the 10th inst. you refer to an. attempt to influence tins waterside workers of Wellington against the Wellington Farmers' : Meat Company. I might state that | there was no attempt to influence. I The position was put clearly before them, and the resolution which you refet to is one of many that was '"put'' and carried at that meeting, and the Watensiders' Union being registered under the same Act as the ■Taratahi Meat Workers' Union, viz., the Trades Union Act, realise the seriousness of the position, that is, allowing the minority to force the majority under the I.C. and A. Act. Now, Sir, as you seem to take a great interest in Union matters, why have you not referred to circular No. 44, dated May'lßth, 1912, .signed "W. Pryor, secretary of the New Zealand Employers' Federation." I challenge you to publish it, and let the public know your opinion on the matter. I, for one, would like to get your ' feelings regarding tin's circular, as it .is of grave importance- to the workers of this country, and you being an authority on those things might, for the benefit, of the community, let us have- a little advice on the matter.— ! am, »'.tc., ROD JtfcRAE. (Jf Mr Meßae will furnish us with a copy of the circular to which he refers, we shall be happy to tell him what we thing about it. In the meantime, we tell him that we have a supreme contempt for the man or men who devote themselves solely to stir- ! n'ng up strife.—Ed. Age.) TRtfST LAND'S HISTORY <*> the Editor.) Sir,—An attempt is being mnde to mislead the public concerning the ! history and object of the Masterton Trust Lands Trust, Do you not think • it time that the Trustees published the official statement, for which they made a grant some years ago, in book form? 1 am, etc., H j BENEFICIARY, j (Mr Richard Brown, a, former seere-j tary, was entrusted with the task of j collatingJhe_history of the Trust, and that he has"the ma"'"' terial almost ready for the printer.— Kd. Age.)
