Mr H. C. Robinson has given notice to move at tho next meeting of the Alasterton J rust Lands Tiusteo.s that Sir -Robert Stout be .asked to advise as to the. educational requirements of Mastertoi'.i. Air Robinson is. no doubt, prompted bv tbe very best- of motives; but bo probibly doe:; not recognise that lie is asking the Chief .Justice to give an opinion upon a controversial subject, ol' a semi-po-litieal character, Avhidi, from the very nature of his position, he should not be expected to discuss. He is also stultifying the Trust Lauuls Trustees and every other educational institution in the town. It is a poor compliment to the people of Masterton. that they should be told that tli'ey require an outsider (even though ho bo a learned .Judge) i'o advise the n ;it" their reouireiuvnts
