WAIPOUA STOCK SALE. Messrs J aim's Macintosh and Co. report having hold their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton) saleyards on Wednesday, October 9th, when they offered only a fair yarding to a good number of buyers, consequently the whole yarding was sold under the hammer. Quotations are as follows: Woolly wether hoggets (very good) 17s Bd, medium hoggets 13s to 1-1 s 7d, l).f. hoggets 13s, 2tootli wethers I.os Id to 13s, owes and lambs to 18s Id, empty ewes (poor .sorts) 10s Id, better sorts to 14s 10s; yearling steers £ls 6s 6d, IS-months steers £4 7s, 2-year steers £5 ss, cows and calves £3 12s fid, springing cows and heifers £4 15s, cow on drop £0 17s Od. WOOL SALKS. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, have received the following , cablegram from their Adelaide office, dated October 7 th:—Market very strong. At Wednesday's sales there was a good offering, and almost a total clearance. Since the opening of the sales this season merino best qualities 2i per cent to 5 per cent higher; medium, par to 2J per cent higher; inferior and faulty, unchanged. The market is easier lor lambs' wool. PAHLATUA SALE. Messrs ' Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. report as follows: —At Pahiatun on Tuesday, we offered a good yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle to a large, attendance. There is still an demand for sheep, whicu Cattle also met a good stue, esjfeciallly good dairy sorts. A large portion of the younger cattle were turned out unsold, vendors' anticipations being slightly above graziers' values. Quotations: Sheep j—Ewes and lambs 17s 6d to 18s, dry j ewes 14s 9d. Cattle —Good dairy cows | £6 10s to £lO 10s, others £4 10s to £5 7s 6/1, cows £2 15 to £3 Is, good springing heifers £6 to £7 os. backward heifers £4 7s 0d to £5 15s. ,2-yanr empty heifers £4 5s to £4 9s. 18-months empty heifers £3 10s tr> £4 Is. 1-year steers £3 to £3 9s fid, mixed year'iiK.rs £2 10s to £3 Is. bulls £'t t > £1 10s. .
