RIFLE SHOOTING
NORTH WAIRAR APA ASSOCIATION. FJ FTH ANX UA L M KKTING. .Tli© fifth annual meeting of t-lio North Wairnmpa Handicap ltifle Association was hold on the l<air\iew Range yesterday. The weather was glorious, but a j difficult left wind varying from eight j degrees to nothing, made it a hard matter for the younger shots to register good results. Notwithstanding this some evce'lont scores wero registered. The entries wero about a dozen less than last year, the shortage being ac--3 counted for b.v the early date of tlic I shoot, which will, probably be altered I before next year. Prizes amounting to £ll4 10s wore divided amongst the competitors. Taking everything into consideration the meeting was a success, hut it is considered that greater support should be accorded the Association , from shooting men within the Wai•rarapa, otherwise, this fixture is api
to lose its importance., A word of praise is due to the' Club's secretary (Mr H. C. Jones), who worked indefatigably to make all arrangements us up-to-date as possible.
