It will be necessary I to have the culvert replaced. About | a 2-foot pipe- will be required. The [ postmaster has asked authority to I cut down trees intruding on the road I reserve, on the Upper Plain road, north of Llandaff boundary, for the purpose of erecting the- piVmaneiib telephone line. I interviewed Mrs Meredith, who consented to tho removal of tho trees on tho roadway (not yet legally dedicated). I have I given the department authority to remove the trees as they proceed I with the work. The formation and widening of Totara Street. —T estimate the cost of | forming Totara Street to toe full i width, with two K ide-walks of 10 feet, at -CISO, including a ferro-orMicreto I bridge culvert 22 feet wide, i Mr Hope's complaint.—l have exj amined the drain complained of, and think it would be better in the interests of all concerned, if it were filled in, at any rate along the frontages built upon. Drainage of impure water from the adjoining premises finds its way into the drain complained of which is calculated to create a nuisance on the public thoroughfare. Miki Miki Road.—A length of the Miki Miki road water-tables are in a blocked condition. A man will be available next week to give it necessary attention. I have received a letter from Mr Whiteman, sawmiller, asking permission to convey water along the roadway for the purpose of supplying the mill, which I- submit to the Council for direction in the matter. TE WHIT! RIDING, Robieson's Road.—Some necessary repairs are being made to Vhe narrow side cuttings, which have subsided on' the outer edge, Ma- Cavanagh's Complaint—The nature of the grievance. As a result of cleaning out watercress and other rubbish above, some has been allowto drift down stream and lodge in the mouth of the culvert. Reardon's Cottage.—As instructed by the Council I have examined the above-mentioned whare, which measures about 10 feet by 10 feet with a 6 feet stud and is' built of iron, including the chimney.
