PHYSICAL CULTURE.

Masterton is inrtnnato in that it has been selected as the place for holding tho competitions this year under the auspices of tho N.Z. Physical Culture Association. The object of this Association is to inspire emulation in physical development, which is tho greatest attribute a people can possess. The. interest that is being aroused in the competitions is very keen, and the function this week promises to be an unqualified success. Tho inclusion of competitions for school teams in the programme lends special interest to the event for physical culture is in future to play an important part in our school curriculum. Mr R. O. Jarrett, who is primarily responsible for tlio whole of this year's arrangements, is to be congratulated upon the enthusiasm he is awakening in the event.-
