AMATEUR ATHLETICS
WAIRARAPA CLUB. A mooting of the committee oi the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club was held in Messrs Gawith and Logan's rooms, Masterton, last night. Present—Messrs S. li. Snell (chair). J. Georgeson, R. McKenzic, A. Long. P. Gilbert, R .Messenger, A. Rippon J. Bradbury and W. Dickson. A letter was received from Mr TT. Crass, accepting the position of vicepresident. Accounts to the amount of £lO Is 6d were passed for payment. It was decided to form a cricket team in connection Avith the Club, and enter same for Thursday competition. The subscription for membership was fixed at ss. The following events were fixed to be run.at the first evening meeting, on Thursday, November 7th:—loo yards handicap, 440 yards handicap. A 2% mile novice harrier cross-eoun-. try race will also be held in connection with this meeting, events to start at 6.15 p.m. sharp. Tho president (Mr S. H. Snell) kindly donated a medal to ho presented to the most improved runner during the season.
