THE WAIHI MINERS.
What will happen in respect to the Waihi miners who are on strike? What advantage will .they gain by remaining longer out of work? How can. they hope, to win the day when the mines are being worked with outside hhoiir? '• If they make, an honourable surrender, [hey will save themselves from becoming permanent mendicants, and their wives and families from hunger and tho deprivation of homo comforts. All the heroism and martyrdom connected, with the business has evaporated. The fire has gone out. Only dull, dreary ashes remain. There is no humiliation in accepting defeat when one is beaten right out. And those miners who have a regard for their wives and families will be consulting their own interests aiid the. interests of those dependent upon them by accepting the inevitable without further delay.
