A MERE PHANTASY.
In tlio opinion of the Hon. G. Jones, the somewhat erratic Legislative Councillor who creates musical and other cadences for the delectation of dry-as-dtist Oarnaru, tho Public Service Bill is "a mere phantasy, conjured up for political purposes." It is fortunate that the opinion of the Oarnaru rush-light in politics does not count for very much. There has always been a kink of prejudice about it. But in spite of the honorable musical Jones, the Public Service Bill is going to become law, and the political patronage which has so long disgraced bur legislative institutions is going to be largely a thing of the past.
