ORDINARY MEETING. ■ The, ordinary meeting of the Wairarapy. Hospital and Charitable Aid Board \va,s held yesterday in the County Council oilices at Ma.stprton. There wore present Mcssro E. G. Eton (Chairman). Yv. Kisher, W. Moore, H. iMorrison, .J. -Dawson, V. W. H. Rummer, A. J. Speedy, S. Hnlton, \Y. W. McCardNv H. (Wueiius, A. I). Mo-Leod and J. C. Ewington. Leave of absence was granted Messrs R. V. Berth am. 1). J. Cameron. J. H. Murray Jackson find G. B'.Minotr. The, Treasurer's report was rend. Tliis showed that the receipts since last meeting (including levies from local Authorities £135!) 16s. lOd. and Government subsidy £2821 ss. Od.) amounted to £3785 lf>.s. Id. The expenditure for the period had amounted to £3IOB 2.5. 7d., leaving a credit balance at date of £1713 lf>s. Bd. The distribution of balancer, was as follows :—District "Nurse laewnmt, £798 10s. 3d; Martinhorongh ambulance account. £l-18 4s. 3d; St. Join l Ambulance Account, £-!■"> 12s. lOd ordinary maintenance account, £B2O 2s. ,ld.' Ov the motion of Mr Bolton, it wadecided to urge iipon the Government the necessity for making provision for the detention of mentallv defective girls and women, as suggested by the Wallace and Fiord Hospital Board.
A communication was received from the Ota go Hospital Board, suggesting a reciprocal arrangement in regard to the maintenance of indigent hospital patients.—Several members spoke against the proposed change, and it was decided that .the Board does not .support the propyl A lengthy report from the Wellington Hospital Board in. reference to the treatment of ' was received.—-Mr MeLeod thought the report was a voi-v important "ii<v and that copies should ho supplied. +- each member. Th'o Castle-point County Connor forwarded particulars of expenditure incurred, by that authority in rosnect to a destitute person, who had come from the Dannovirke district.—lt was decided to authorise the payment of
the account. It was resolved that the s«cretarv of the South Wai ram-pa Hospital bo instructed to keep the accounts of the Buchanan Home separate from those of the 'South Wairarapa Hospital, and that a separate report on that Home lie submitted to the meetings of the Board. The reports of two meetings of the Buchanan Home Committee were read and approved. The renort of the meeting of the District Nurse Committee, held on September 17th, was read and adopted. The payment of accounts by the Finance Committee, amounting to £2241 17s 7d, was confirmed, and accounts amounting to £325 Os 5d were pawed for payment. The. reports of the Health Inspectors were received. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the' Masterton Counlv Council for the use of its room for Board meetings.
