NEW ZEALAND'S FORECAST. 'By TelegTapa—Preas Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued the following report:— The barometer has risen everywhere with southerly winds, from strong to gale, and rain in most parts of the country. An improvement has been reported to-day, except about EasL Cape, but high westerly winds have sprung up in Fovea ux Strait ilirs afternoon. Present indications are for strong southeasterly, winds, veering by : cast :o northerly, northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and increasing northerly and westerly winds elsewhere. The barometer will probably rise slowly for a short time in tinnorth, and will fall in the south. Fair to cloudy weather is probable generally, and unsettled conditions especially on the West lCoa.st' and southern district, southwards of Kawhia and Castlepoint. ■ '
