"Matrimonial Squalls" as./: a laughter-raiser easily. eclipses'* 'aHy~- ;.. thing we have yet witnessed in .Mas: • tertoiii--; The .extraordinarily ' funny situations kept, the audience in fits of laughter,' which was .sustained until the last scene. This is. certainly -the cleverest pictorial film -that lym-... been produced, and should .not' he : • inissed b?" those looking foi- : a' real • Wight'senjoyment. Urban co'vnic, and ''His Waterloo," a screaming : farce, by the Cines Company, were r-* laughable films which proved, a fitting finale to a- great programme. • GREAT -STAR PROGRAMME. The Foresters Hail was packed !as£ night for'the change of pictures. T'ho' excellence of the programme added further to Messrs Thompson and Payne's reputation for providing the very best. No less than three big-star.-dramas were included in the. bill-of-fare, and the audience appreciated the enterprise, of Messrs Thompson and Payne very much: "The "Great Milling Disaster" was the first star film in at) attractive programme of cinematograph gems submitted. Throughout the star picture there was an exceptionally powerful love story, which imparted considerable' interest to an otherwise. . realistic but very gruesome pictorial representation of the horrors of an explosion in a coal mine. The story is brilliantly acted and the most careful attention lias been paid to secure the happy blend of tin; details so necessary to make such a story run without that jerkiness so common irt less elaborately prepared scenes. "Cardinal Wolsey" Was the second star .•lttraction. The red page in British history was repeated with an attention to detail bound to ensure, success. The many exciting incidents which, caused .Wols<>y s o much pain and thought were excellently portrayed, and the whole piece was staged most effectively and well acted. "The Love of an Island Maiden," the third star, was also a wellproduced picture, full of exciting incidents and most interesting detail. The picture is set on an island otf the American coast, near 'California, and an excellent setting it makes. "Little Boy Blue" and- "Arab-eIH an Bari" were also very interesting pictures. ".Berne" was :i capital scenic. "The Widow of Ricky O'Neal," "Sheepskin Trousers" nrd "Mothers and Daughters" were ;i fine Ij.it"lt rf comedies, all of which had b'swivs tell. There was a Gaumor.t,Graphic, a novelty picture of "Our Pet T>i«rs, ,> " and several comic production-; wh unmade, up an.excelknit progrnjruv:-1.: -t completely satisfied jr.V* • l&Jwr»? enee who attended.
