TAJUTAHI SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report on their Taratahi sale as follows: —Entries came forward in excess of advertised /numbers. In sheep we had a good entry, and all lines'changed hands, at prices well above, vendors' reserves. A good demand existed fo< all classes of young cattle, and also forward springing heifers. With t!v> oxception of a few pens we had. a total clearance all round at hnving list of prices: Sheep—Empty ewes 13s Ud to 15s, good wether hoggets 10s, ewes with lambs 15s 9d to
23s Id. Cattle—Winter weaner heifers £2 5s fid. yearling ditto £2 to £3 ss. mixed Shorthorn yearlings £2 5s to £2 17s, yearling steers £2 17s fid, cull, cows £2 to £2 15s, forward empty cows £3 to £3 15s. found cows in calf £t 10s to £5, ditto at drop £5- 10s to £7, backward springing .'heifers £3 to £1 15s.'forward ditto. £5 to £7 3s. Shorthorn station-.cow* in calf £t ss, bulls £4 to £5 10s. weaner pigs (small) to 10s.
BUSINESS-PROGRESS MESSRS MTXIFTE AND GARDNER. EW-owliore in this morning's issue Messrs A. .1. Minifie a ii<l H. Gardner announce that they have purchased the business of
Mr George Heron, and enter into possession to-day. Both of the new proprietors are well known in tlio Wairarapa district, and have, had considerable business experience. Mr Gardner lias been manager lor Mr Heron for many years, and is theretore intimate with the parrying on of the business. The new firm will continue to uphold the splendid reputation earned by Mr Heron for keeping the best of goods, and with this end in view the stocks will be bought from the leading manufacturers. Messrs Minifieand Gardner are both enterprising business men, mid it is safe to predict that they will meet with groat success in their venture.
