Sir Robert Stout, Chief Juatfre, re(tarns to Wellington this afternoon, preside oyer a sitting of the £ Court of Appeal on Monday next. The friends of Mr and Mrs G. J Braggias, of Cornwall Street, MasterJon, will regret to learn, of the -death of their infant son, which occurred .yesterday. Mr D. K. Logan was yesterday el<*cted 3i member of the Chamber of Commerce, aiTfl appointod to the OouucH. At last night's meeting of the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club, Mr -J. «Georgeson, on beh.ilf of ine club, presented the secretary (Mr W. S. L. Dickson with ,n gold albert, with a locket attached. The recipient suit--aljly acknowledged the gift. ' An old resident of Otago, in the of Mrs A. Muir, passed away home at Port Chalmers, on September .24th. The deceased lady was born in Scotland in 1829, and was ia hor 84th yen- at the time of her death. She came to New Zealand in the ship Southern Cross in* 1857 and resided in the Otago district.
