WANGANUI RACES. (By Tdf.oraoh — Association.) WAXGANUI, Last Night. The Spring Meeting of the Wanganui Jockey. Club opened to-day in fine weather. The track was somewhat dead, as a result of the recent rain. A sum of £14,705 was put through the totalisator, compared with £13,740 011 the first day of the laet Spring Meeting. Results: —
Flying Handicap.—Piriwai 1, Alt-car 2, Merry Frank 3. Scratched —Makara. Won by a nose. Time, lmin 16 l-ssec. Maiden Hack. —Patrohalo 1. Oxenjiope 2, Topic 3. Scratched —Waiwai. Won by a length and a half. Time, lmin 7 l-osec.
Wanganui Guineas. —Bon Reve 1, Brown Owl 2. Haskeyne 3. All started. Won by half a length. Time, 1 min 46 l-ssec.
/ Okehii Handicap Hurdles. —Bollin 1. Sandy Paul'2, Ooronnetted 3. Darby Paul finished first, but w«s disqualified, and his rider (T. Jone?) sent up for twelve months. Koran and Strathmoirsi were scratched. Won by a length. Time, 3min 21 1-osec.
Gonvillo Hack Hurdles. —Silver Oluso 1, Fashion Plate 2. Timothy 3. All Started. Won by inches. Time, 3mi 11 7 2-ssec. Putiki Hack Handicap.—Anitiatia 1, St, Helena 2. Alluar 3. Scratched— Piriwai, Oxonliope, East wind and Princess Flo. Won by a neck. Time, lmin 17 2-ssee. Spring Handicap.—Obligant 1, Con-the-Shaughraun 2, Ladrone 3. Scratched —Labour Day. Won by a length. Time, lmin 46 1-osec.
GERALD IN E RACES. - FfftST DAY'S RESULTS. GERALD r\E, Last Night, The first day of the Geraldine races was- held in beautiful weather, there being a record attendance.
