WANGANUI RACES. (By Tdf.oraoh — Association.) WAXGANUI, Last Night. The Spring Meeting of the Wanganui Jockey. Club opened to-day in fine weather. The track was somewhat dead, as a result of the recent rain. A sum of £14,705 was put through the totalisator, compared with £13,740 011 the first day of the laet Spring Meeting. Results: —

Flying Handicap.—Piriwai 1, Alt-car 2, Merry Frank 3. Scratched —Makara. Won by a nose. Time, lmin 16 l-ssec. Maiden Hack. —Patrohalo 1. Oxenjiope 2, Topic 3. Scratched —Waiwai. Won by a length and a half. Time, lmin 7 l-osec.

Wanganui Guineas. —Bon Reve 1, Brown Owl 2. Haskeyne 3. All started. Won by half a length. Time, 1 min 46 l-ssec.
