THE LAND BILL.
Tho Land Bill' brought down by Governor's message in the House of Representatives last evening contains several important features, though it does not embrace the whole of the Government's lam,! policy. The most important clause in the Bill is that which gives the right of purchase to Crown tenants (other than holders of ! endowment leases) nt tho present va--1 lues,-less the tenant's interest in tho unexpired'lease, and interest on his (improvements. This will lead to considerable discussion, as the value of the unexpired lease and tho ascertaining of improvements will bo a. matter of speculation. Another proposal is to give the lessee of a grazing run the right of selecting a section of the land ""when it is sub-divided. There will he considerable opposition to this clause. With the details of the Bill wo shall deal moro fully in a future issue.
