MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wellington Education Hojrd was held yesterday, there being present Messrs R Lee (Chairman), -L Kebbell, R. Freeman, W H. Field, J. G. W. Aitken, W. Allan and A. H. Vile.

The financial statement showed receipts for the- month amounting to £ii.2~2 Us yd, a::d a credit balance at date of £305 12s Sd.

Tho Health Department notified that Dr Elizabeth Gunn had been appointed Medical Inspector for the Wellington district, and would comnienco her duties at the -\ornia! School this week.

it was decided to make application at once for a school residence at Eeatherstou Sou eh, and for a school as soon as the Inspectors consider the .■ircumstances warrant it.

A deputation from the Wellington Industrial Association waited upon the. Board in reference to an account of L'KjOO alleged to -be owing to the Association. The matter was subsequently dealt with in committee.

The resignations of Mr H. T. *M. leathers, assistant at Maranui, and Miss M. Hitchcock, assistant at South Wellington, wore accepted.

The appointment of assistant teachers for the La;:sd(;wne, Te Whiti and Waihouuga schools was ici'c with the Principal of the Training College, there being no applications before the Board for some of the positions.

The following grants were made for Wairarapa -schools: —iCketahuma £2B, Pongaroa £l, Laleheld £l2 10s, Matarawa £-1, l<Yr:i ridge £ll, Pahiatua £l,! IDs, Belvedere £2, Mmgaoiio £1 los.

It was decided that the Board decline to hear dedication and other costs of widening the road, adjacent to the Eket.ihuna selmol. and that the Chairman be authorised to signdocuments relating fo exchange of lam! with the Borough Council.

The. offer of a residence at Mauriceville was deferred for .further information.

The secretary was instructed to communicate with tho Kaiwaiwai Committee, with a view to the erection of a wire fence and a live hedge.
