ANNUAL HOItSE PARADE. j The annual horse parade in eonncctiou with the Wairarapa P. and A. Society "was held.on the Carterton Showgrounds on Saturday last, under conditions which were highly unfavourable. A strong north-westerly gale, raged throughout the day, and the frequent and heavy showers of rain militated considerably against the attendance and the success of the parade. Notwithstanding the adverse elements, however, the owners or ?. number of horses kept iaith vtitb the Society, and with the public. It was eventually decided that in justice to all concerned another parade be held and the owners expressed their intention of appearing again on tlie Showground on Saturday next, when ic i '■ hoivd tlio conditions will lie more, favourable. The secretary (Mr H. S. Moss) and officials of the Society did their best to counteract the effect cf the adverse conditions by a complete provision for the- stalling and .modation of the horses shown.
