EARLY CLOSING ACT . DISSATISFACTION CREATED. (Received Last Night, JO o'clock.) SYDNEY, September 20. There is considerable outcry over some of the provisions in the amended Early Closing Act, particularly by the butchers, who are not allowed to open late one night weekly. Hairdressers and tobacconists are allowed one late night, and on the remaining nights close at 7 o'clock. Chemists closo one night at 9 o'clock and on the rest at 6 o'clock. In each case a weekly half-holiday is provided for. OUSTING THE GOVERNOR. (Received Last Night, 10 o'clock.) SYDNEY, September 20. Tn the Assembly Mr Cochrane speaking on the ousting of Lord Donman from Government House, said that the Governor-General was able to take care of himself. It did not concern him (Mr Cochrane) where he went, because the time was fast approaching when the King's Crown might be in the melting pot, and the money received used to relieve poverty in England. The Liberal members, lie said, should show greater interest in the poorer clashes than in titled and exalted personages.
