THE CADET FORCES.

A few days ago ne published an appeal from Mrs Godley, wife of General Godley, to the ladies of New Zealand, for shilling subscriptions towards providing prizes for shooting competitions among the Senior Cadets of the. Dominion. It is proposed that each Company shall have its own prize fund. The object is one which should at once appeal to the ladies of this district, as it is appealing to tho ladies of other parts of the Dominion. It is to the Senior Cadets we shall' look for the future defence.of our hearths and homes. It is especially necessary that they should be equipped in the art of shooting, and the offering of suitable prizes will stimulate their efforts ami their ambitions in this direction. We should be glad receive and acknowledge shilling subscriptions from the ladies for this Worthy purpose.
