SPECIAL MEETING. ;V A meeting of the Mafeterton "Beautifying Society was held lastevening, there being a fair' attendance of members, presided over byMr F. W. Temple. The Chairman reported on the amount of work that had been done, and stated that about." eighty trees had been planted on the section at the corner of' Chapel Street. A letter was received from the Wairarapa Hockey Association, enclosing a donation of £l. It was decided that I the section at the corner of Chapel Street be fenced between the two advertising hoardings, and that the ground be scarified, and have more 1 Soil added. • It' was also resolved; to sow the Section in grass, and if funds permit painting the fencing. Tt was decided that the Borough Council' he »s>ked to expend the money voted' for the purpose, on improving tlxv Tuiripuni triangle, the question of shifting the lamp to be left for tho .consideration of the Borough Engineer. Tt whs agreed th'at the meetings of the Society he called by the executive when required. A vote of thanks was passed- to tho Borough Engineer (Mr J. Archer) for tlio trouble, he took in arranging the laying out of the section at the corner of ChapeT Street. It was decided that Messrs Falconer and Henderson wait uprwi tho A. ml P. for tho purpose of soliciting financial assistance. Tt was decided that the Executive revise ;tho By-laws of ,the Christchurch Beautifying Association, and* submit snme to the next mooting of tho Association. -
