BUILDING FATALITY

A prisoner named George McGurk, aged 36, who- was serving a sentence of sore]] years, for liav-iii.tr attempted to murder a- man at Devonport, was accidentally killed at Mt. Eden Gaol this afternoon. Ho was hauling up timber in connection with tlio roof of a. new wing, which is being bniit, and a heavy piece of timber i'ell out of tho sling striking McGurk on tho head. Tho injured man died twenty :nim:ir:; after the aceidrnf.
