TARANAKI v. CANTERBURY. fßti Telwaoh—Prew Auociation y STRATFORD, Last Night. Taranaki defeated Canterbury today at Stratford, after a fast and open game by 21 points to nil. In the first spell Taranaki played with the wind and nut up 7 points, Stohr potting a. goal and kicking a penalty. Canterbury opened well in the second half, and were within an ace of scoring, but the heavier Taranaki forwards prevailed. Roberts secured and cutting in twice and scored under •the posts. He took the kick himself and landed a goal. The next minute Roberts again crossed the line, Stohr failing to convert. Canterbury then collapsed, and before time was called S. Cameron..,and D. Cameron bo til got over". Stohr and Brown were unsuccessful with the kicks.
