A FEMALE FORGER

BANK DEFRAUDED OF £SOO. (Received this morning, 12.35 o'clock.) SYDNEY, September 9. Some time ago a respectably dressed woman presented a cheque for £SOO at the City Bank; signed by- a, prominent business firm. The cheque which was cashed turned out*to be a forgery, but the forgery was not traced. The manqger of the Bank has now received a letter from a woman enclosing £2OO, and stating that she was only a medium, whereby the forgery was executed. Her early arrest is expected.
