The Wairarapa* Terminating Building Society held a ballot on Thursday evening for an appropriation of £3OO The first marble drawn out was held by an unfinaiicial members, and the next draw resulted in Mr R. H. Baillie, of Martinborough being successful.
A very successful concert in aid of the funds of the Belvedere State School was held on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance, and a capital concert programme was rendered. • ■ The quarterly summoned meeting of the Waiarnrana Licensing Committee was held here on Thursday, presided over by Mr L. G. Reid, S.M. Transfers were granted in respect to the u'nf dermentionod hotels from Mr P. Costin to Mr I). Douglas: Morrison Bush, from Mr S. Poison to Mr A. W. Hood; Empire (Foatborstou) from Mr J. H. Tully to Mr A. Gibson. As all requirements of the committee had been carried out in respect to the Tinui, Blairlogie, and Royal Oak, hotel licenses were granted for the full period.
