"H.lVi.s. PSNAFORE."

To tho principals in "H.M.S, Pinafore," especially Josephine (Mrs H. J. Francis), Ralph (Mr W. S. Jago) Captain Cocoran (Mr H. F. Green) is allotted some very choice music. In the duet. "Refrain Audacious Tar," Josephine and Ralph have a spirited number, which they "sing excellently. Captain Cocoran's solos includes the pretty -song "Fail*-Moon to Thee I Sing," and "I'm the Captain of the Pinafore," both of which suit Mr Green admirably. Ralph Rackstraw has a number of fine solos and tenor parts in trios and quartettes. In tho octette "Farewell My Own" he has an exquisite introdoctory theme to sing, which ho docs admirably. In tho part of Ralph Mr Jago will be a great success.. To Josephine, however, goes tho choicest music of the opera in solo work. In "Sorry Her Lot" and tho "Scena," recitative and solo, she has music full of power and dramatic art. Mrs Francis will captivate the audience in these fine solos. Tho duets, trios and quartettes set for the principals aro all excellent. Those v. ho wish to reserve seats for Wednesday and Thursday should do so at onco, as tho plan i.'i fast filling.
