TO-DAY'S WEATHER

WELLINGTON, Last Night;
The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued the following report:—
Easterly to south-easterly winds have prevailed, and have decreased, in force. The barometer has been very unsteady, rising and falling everywhere, and continuing lower in the north. Cloudy and misty weather has prevailed with rain in many parts of the Dominion.
Present indications were for ;roderate to strong easterly winds prevailing and squall;- at times. Expect dull weather with- much mist and fog in parts. Rain iy probable on the East Coasts especially. A temporary rise in the barometer is likely to precede a more decided fall, before the end of the week.
