PALMERSTON STOCK SALE
PALMERSTON, Last Night. •Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report. At our Palmerston North sale on Thursday, sth -hist., a, good entry of cattle met with keen competition, and all lines changed hands. Only a few pens of sheep came forward, and sold at the following quotations: Fat ewes 18s, forward' ewes. 13s lid, hoggets 12s 2d, light fat cows £5 2s 6d, yearling steers £3 6s to £3 8s 6d, yearling dairy heifers'£3 19s 6d to £4, store cows £3. PAHIATUA SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their P.F.A. sale as follows: —We offered a small yarding o>f'sheep and a large yarding of cattle to a fair attendance of buyers, prices generally being easier. We quote: Medium hoggets 10s, 2, 4. and 6th ewes and lambs IDs. Cattle, fat cows £5 10s to. £5 15s, store cows £3 ss, 2-year steers in good conditions £4 13s 6d; dairy cows springing to £5 ss, springing heifers £4 to £6, bwlls to £3 Is. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their springing heifer fair as follows:—We offered a large [ yarding of heifers to a large atten--1 danco of local and outside buyers. The bulk of our entry came forward; and we have to report a very fair-clear-ance. There was no demand for backward heifers, but well grown sorts I close to profit sold well. We : quote: Backward sorts £4 5s to £5 ss, forward heifers £6 15s to £7 7s 6d, heifers on drop £8 5s to £9, Jersey bull £6, store cows £2 15s 6d, fat cows to £6, dairy cows on the drop £8 7s 6d.
