NEW ZEALAND) FORECAST (By Telegraph—-Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. - ' The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued tho following report:— A cyclonic syE'tem still rules in the north, and heavy rain has frllen uorthwafd of East Cape and Ivawhia. Easterly winds, strong to gale, have been reported in the north while gloomy . '■weather and moderate to strong east to southeasterly breezes have prevailed elsewhere and falling barometer everywhere. Present indie are for easterly winds, strong to gale backing to poutherlies in most parts of the country. Cloudy and unsettled weather, with rain probable generally, and especially on tlie En.st Coast and in the northern districts of the North Island. The barometer still shows a falling tendency but is due to rise everywhere won.
