NORTHERN CHARMER 19 a dark bay with black points, and was foaled on December 12th, 1905. He has many points to recommend him aa a sire. 'He ha* splendid-feet and pasterns, plenty of good flat bone, good action and a sound constitution with a very docile temper. Northern Charmer k'not one of those big awkward elks, that farmers try to avoid, but is a splendidly proportioned horse, possessing great muscle and strength in a fairly fcmall compass. The judge (Mr J. Baxter) at. the Masterton A. and P. Show, 1909, gave Northern Charmer special praise for his splendid feet, and considered him a model for a farmers' class of stallion. He was awarded 2nd prize in the 3-year-old class at the Masterton A. and P. Show, 1909, and also prize for 3 year and over ::t the Woodville A. and P. Show, 1909. Northern Charmer was got by that well-known horso Fcrnside—by Pride of Strathmore, by Extinguisher. Fernside's clam Darling, by Nil Dosperandum. Northern Charmer's dam, Maggie was by Hero bv Kelvin, by Prince Royal (Mc-Kellar'sj by Prince Charlie imp.). The foregoing pedigree is feuflicient to show that Northern Charmer has on both ' sides the host Clydesdale blood in the Dominion, and his breeding alone should command the confidence of fanners throughout the district. ' . . . ■ Intending breeders will find it to their advantage to carefully consider the merits of Northern Charmer as he is the stamp of sire to get the class of all round horse so greatly in demand. It is the testimony of one of our numerous clients to the HARD WEARING dualities of our First Grade Kip Watertight Shootere. How _ pleased he looked as he produced a pair. After 18 months' HAM) WEAR they still retained their original shape. They had never been half soled. Only a few nails now and agaiin., and a heel shod. , . 1- .
