THE LATE MR PAULING.
The news of the death of Mr J. H, Pauling, J.P., though not unexpected, will come as a shock to the community of which lie has been so prominent and useful a member during the last twelve years. There was hardly a progressive movement in the town with which ho was not identified, and to them all ho gave of his best. A nan of the strictest integrity, of rein irkable industry and enthusiasm, and withal plain and outypoken, he earned the respect and esteem of all with whom he came in contact. Like .many another, he sacrificed his pergonal interests for the good of the community. And he ha«s left a widow and large family to faco the world without their bread-winner. For -these we would fain solicit a measure of that magnificent spirit of practical sympathy which was a characteristic of the man whose loss to-day we mourn, and whose departure has cast such intense sorrow, gloom, and loneliness upon his household.
