Later Morris passed to McKenzic) who got over with a cut in run, and then from a scrum MeLeod got possession and scored. Wellington 12, Wairarapa 5. Some quick changes ensued when a well sustained forward rush enabled Ross to score for Wairarapa. Wellington 12, Wairarapa 8. Hot play followed for some time, when Wellington got to the lino and from a forward rush terry got tho ball and I scored, the game ending: Wellington * 17, Wairarapa 8. WELLINGTON 2G/AVANGANUI 9.

The Rugby representative match between Wellington and . Wan#amri was played on Saturday. The ground was in perfect order, and about 4000 spectators wore present. Wellington won. a strenuous game by 26 to 9.

Canterbury beat Otago to-day by 11 points (a goal from a try, a penalty goal and a try) to 3 points (a try).

A football match between Otago and Canterbury juniors was played yesterday. Rain fell throughout, and tho ground was very heavy. Canterbury had the best of the play, and won by S (two tries, one converted) to 3 point (a try).
A LEAGUE MATCH
AUCKLAND DEFEATS N.S.W
AUCKLAND, Last Night. At Victoria Park yesterday in tho presence of about 7000 people, Auck-
land defeated the N.S.W. League football team by 10 points to 3. Rain i fell throughout the game, and the f ball soon became wet and heavy, making accurate handling difficult. The N.S.W. team scored its solitary try in the first spell, but after the interval Auckland had all tho best of mat- , tors. Mitch-oil and Keke scored tries, Hardgravo converting one and also kicking a penalty goal, making the score 10 to 3. Play was very rough in the second spell, and the visitors were subjected to hostile demonstrations by the crowd. There were numerous melees, and towards the end of the game Deane was sent off for punching Curran. The visitors were generally to blame, and in practically every scrum fists were flying.
