TO-DAY'S WEATHER

WELLINGTON, Last Night,
The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening issued the following report:—
Northerly winds, strong to , gale, have prevailed northward of Hokitiki •and Kaikoura, and east to south-east-erly winds elsewhere. Overcast, misty, and showery weuhcr has prevailed. The barometer has fallen in the north, but bits been unsteady, with a rising tendency, to-day in the south. Pi'ese-.'.t indications are for gloomy and wet weather, with heavy rain in parts, and snow on the higher levels in the south. Colder weather is expected shortly. The barometer will probably fall in the north, but will rise everywhere, after from 1G to 2-1 hours. High ncrtherly and easterly winds, changing to southerly and south-easterlies.
