A pretty wedding took placed AH Saints' Church, Palmerston North, on Wednesday, when Miss Ethel Jane, eldest daughter of Mr T. The condition of Mr J. H. Pauling, who is in tho Masterton Hospital, suffering from a serious . internal complaint, is occasioning grave anxiety , to his'uumerous friends. Tho medical staff of the hospital decided yesterday to call Dr Ewart, of Wellington, it,to consultation. Tho consultation took place early in tho evening, and it was decided that an operation should pot I>e, performed until this morning. At a late hour last night Mr Pauling was reported to be in a very low condition. At the Roman Catholic Church. Otaki, on Wednesday, Miss Ella Maud Cook, eldest daughter of Mr A. H. Cook, was married to Mr J. J. Council, a, well-known resident of Laus<lowne, Masterton. Miss Stella Cook, was bridesmaid and Mr Carl Cook best man, while tho Rev Father Melu was the officiating minister. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, looked very pretty in a neat blue serge costume, with hat to match. Tho bridesmaid was dressed in white silk. After the ceremony, the young couple left for the north for their honeymoon, after which they will take up their residence in Masterton.
